Philadelphia In-Home Detention Program
-
The In-Home Detention program is a court ordered program designed for delinquent youth. In-Home Detention serves as a detention alternative to residential detention at the Philadelphia Juvenile Justice Service Center (PJJSC) or the Community Based Detention Shelters (CBDS). This program provides youth the opportunity to remain in the community as they await their adjudicatory hearing. Youth who are on In-Home Detention receive daily supervision from contracted agencies.
Overview
The goal of Cornerstone’s In-Home Detention is to provide services and supervision to ensure the appearance of youth for all court hearings, and to prevent their involvement or arrest in new delinquency cases. The program is designed for youth who are on detention status at home. It is an alternative to residential detention at the Juvenile Justice Services Center or Community Based Shelter Programs. Youth who are placed on In-Home Detention, pending further court proceedings will receive daily supervision and structure in lieu of being placed in custody. Youth may be assigned to the program for as little as two weeks and up to a maximum of several months, depending on the length of their pre-adjudicatory court process.
